President’s Lawyer Looks to Halt Release of Fire and Fury

A lawyer for President Trump sent a letter to a publisher instructing them to halt the publication of a new book that details life inside the Trump White House during the first 200 days of the administration.  Attorney for the president, Charles J Harder, said that he would be pursuing possible libel charges against the book’s author.

The book, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, has set off a firestorm of buzz with its first-hand accounts of what the early days of Trump’s West Wing were like.  The book also sparked a blistering response from the president himself to onetime top Trump strategist, Steve Bannon’s reported attacks on members of his family.  When Bannon was fired, “he not only lost his job, he lost his mind,” the president said.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders released a statement saying the book was “filled with false and misleading accounts from individuals who have no access or influence with the White House.”

The Book’s publisher, Henry Holt & Co, has not yet responded to requests for comment.
