At least five people have been shot, one of them fatally, at a high school in Kentucky, authorities say.  The shooting took place this morning at Marshall County High School in Benton, a town in southwestern Kentucky.  Officials say a suspect has been apprehended, and that that suspect is a student.

Seven people have been taken to local hospitals and authorities say some of the wounded were flown by helicopter for medical treatment.  Nearly 100 children ran out of the school seeking safety.

Numerous ambulances and police cars responded to the scene, as well as officers in black fatigues carrying assault rifles.  The FBI is en route, according to authorities.  Kentucky State Police has said the situation is no longer active and that they have no reason to believe there are any other suspects.
