Michigan Man Arrested After Threatening Mass Violence Against CNN

A man from Michigan has been arrested after calling CNN headquarters in Atlanta twenty-two times and threatening violence.  Nineteen-year-old Brandon Griesemer made the calls about a week ago.

Griesemer allegedly told a CNN operator “Fake news. I’m coming to gun you all down.”  He allegedly called again and said, “I’m smarter than you. More powerful than you. I have more guns than you. More manpower. Your cast is about to get gunned down in a matter of hours.  I am coming to Georgia right now to go to the CNN headquarters to…gun every single last one of you,” he said.

Authorities were able to trace the calls and arrest the man before he committed any acts of violence.

President Trump has repeatedly called the media “fake news” and accused them of dishonesty in their reporting, especially in stories about his campaign and administration.  Journalists have repeatedly criticized the president’s attacks, warning that his words may lead to violence against the press.
