A Massachusetts company that sales bullet-proof backpacks has seen a spike in sales in the wake of the Parkland, Florida, mass shooting this week.  The company, Bullet Blocker, sells backpacks that are lined with Kevlar an are capable of withstanding a gunshot it says.

Bullet Blocker says it sold 500 bags on Thursday this week alone, a 30% increase in regular sales.  The bags cost between $200 and $500 and weigh 4 ½ lbs.  Most of the sales of the packs this week, according to owner Joe Curran, where from Florida.

A gunman walked into the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, on Wednesday and began shooting.  He killed seventeen students in all and wounded fourteen others.  An AR-15 semi-automatic rifle was believed to have been used in the attack.

The FBI has come under scrutiny after the shooting as they acknowledged that they failed to follow up on a tip that may have prevented the shooting in January.
