Police Dispatcher: “Is Anybody Out There?” Atlanta Left to Fend for Itself As Police Officers Walk Out to Protest Charges to Officers in Rayshard Brooks Case

Grace from ReallyGraceful analyzes the massive cover up that took place in Atlanta last night that the mainstream news media refuses to report.

Atlanta police officers walked off the job last night in protest of charges brought against two officers in the Rayshard Brooks case. Brooks was killed by police at an Atlanta-area Wendy’s while they were attempting to take him into custody for driving while impaired. Brooks wrestled the officers, manage to gain control of one of their ‘ taser-weapons and fired it at an officer while attempting to flee the scene.

One of the officers, Garret Rolfe, fired his gun at Brooks, killing him.

Rolfe received 11 charges for the incident, including felony murder, which carries with it a possible death penalty sentence. Officer Devin Brosnan faces 3 charges, including aggravated assault.

In the wake of those charges, dozens of Atlanta police officers walked off the job.

The Atlanta Police Department called those reports “inaccurate” however. they insisted that there was no walk out, only that several officers had called out sick.

Grace, who spent much of last night listening to police scanners in her hometown of Atlanta, tells a different story though.

“That’s a total cover-up. A lot of us listened to the Atlanta police scanner last night. I think at one point it had almost 15,000 listeners and here’s what we heard between 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.”

“Orders were given over the police scanner to cancel all calls to any physical fights in progress where weapons were not involved. Armed robberies had been holding for several hours and all auto accidents without injury were to be handled between drivers because police were not responding. There were simply not enough police to respond. And by 8:30 p.m. there were 580 calls to the Atlanta Police Department pending.”

“At one point while listening to the scanner I heard a dispatcher ask, ‘Is anyone out there?'” Grace says. “After that it was total silence. No one was out there. You could have heard it for yourself just by listening.”

True to reform, the mainstream news outlets, covered the story sparingly, if at all. A curious development considering one of the largest cable news networks CNN, is headquartered in downtown Atlanta.
