Florida Labs Forced to Admit “Major Errors” After Reporting 100% Covid19 Positivity Rates

Health Politics U.S.

The State of Florida reported an eye-opening 15,000 new Covid19 positive cases over the weekend, prompting fears of a deadly resurgence of the virus spreading throughout Florida.

It seems that there is more than meets the eye with the new case numbers however, and that some of the data hospitals were reporting were not just off, but way off.

Orlando Health reported a 98% positive rate in their testing. When local Fox News affiliate FOX 35 in Orlando followed up on the matter however, it was learned that Orlando Health’s positivity rate is actually only 9.4%, not 98%.

Orlando Veteran’s Medical Center had a similar error in its numbers. A spokesperson for the VA told FOX 35 News yesterday that their positivity rate is actually 6%, not the 76% previously reported.

FOX 35 is still waiting to hear back from Florida Department of Health about an explanation for these errors.

Meanwhile, Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has been under heavy pressure to impose a mandatory mask law for individuals in public and to reimpose lockdown due to Covid19.
