Mexican Dies After Plunging From Border Wall in Arizona

A Mexican man has died after sustaining injuries from a fall from the border wall in Arizona, authorities reported.

The 33-year-old whose identity has not been released, was found injured in a field near Yuma, Arizona by agents from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection on July 26. He told agents he had fallen from the wall.

First responders administered aid and transported the man to Yuma Regional Medical Center. He succumbed to his injuries six days later.

“We would like to express our condolences to his family,” read a statement from CBP.

Unfortunately such occurrences are not rare. In March a 19-year-old Guatemalan woman, Mirian Stephany Girón Luna, died after falling from a border wall in El Paso, Texas. Luna was believed to be eight months pregnant at the time. Medical personnel were unable to save her baby.
