Former President Barack Obama has “privately expressed grave concerns” about his former VP, Joe Biden’s campaign for the White House.

“Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f–k things up,” Obama has said of Biden, according to a new report from Politico.

Despite the rosy picture given of the relationship, their 8-year working relationship has been described as “fraught with tension.”

“You could certainly see technocratic eye-rolling at times,” former White House communications director Jen Psaki said of the pair’s interactions.

On Obama making it clear that he preferred Clinton take the role of successor to his presidency in 2016 Biden said “the president was not encouraging.”

President Obama is scheduled to speak at Biden’s nominating convention this week.
