YouTube to Ban Content Obtained by “Hacking,” Meant to “Interfere” in Election

Headlines Politics Technology U.S.

The world’s largest video-sharing platform, YouTube, announced that it will ban videos containing information obtained through hacking. It also announced it will ban information meant to meddle with elections or censuses.

This would presumably include information from hacked emails with details about a candidate or a campaign.

YouTube also said it will remove videos that encourage the interfering with voting and other democratic processes.

For example, videos instructing people to create long lines at polling stations to suppress votes will not be allowed.

The changes come as the campaigns for president this November enters the final stretch.
