Headlines Politics U.S.

C-SPAN’s livestream of the first night of the Republican National Convention got nearly 440,000 views. The number dwarfed the Democratic National Convention’s views on its first night which was 76,000.

Democratic nominee, former VP Joe Biden’s acceptance speech on Thursday night was watched by 21.8 million on television. It was by far the most watched the address of the convention.

But it was a still a marked drop from presidential nominee’s Hillary Clinton’s acceptance speech 4 years – by 21% – and was nearly 38% lower than President Trump’s acceptance speech at the Republican convention in 2016. That address garnered 34.9 million television viewers.

President Trump is scheduled to accept his party’s renomination in an address tonight, which is the final night of the convention.
