17% of Likely Trump Voters Less Likely to Tell Others About Their Vote

Headlines Politics U.S.

17% of Trump voters – nearly 1 in 5 – are less likely to let others know about their support for President Trump, according to a recent Rasmussen poll.

“The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 17% of Likely U.S. Voters who Strongly Approve of the job President Trump is doing say they are less likely to let others know how they intend to vote in the upcoming election. By comparison, just half as many (8%) of those who Strongly Disapprove of the president’s performance say the same,” the poll reads.

The polling establishment was stunned in 2016 when Donald Trump won the presidency. Months of consistent polling showed Hillary Clinton had a commanding lead in the contest.

If the numbers found by Rasmussen hold true, 2020 could be a repeat of that disappointment for pollsters, as well as the Democratic Party writ large.
