Salons, Other Businesses Allowed to Reopen in SF in Wake of Pelosi Visit

Business Headlines Politics U.S.

San Francisco Mayor London Breed (D) announced last week that the second phase of the city’s reopening would allow certain businesses to resume normal operations. Businesses affected include salons, massage services, nail salons, and barbershops.

The announcement was made late Thursday night and businesses were allowed to reopen yesterday. These and other types of businesses had been closed for six months in San Francisco.

The decision to allow businesses to resume operations comes less than two weeks after Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D), and San Francisco resident, used a salon that was otherwise closed for indoor services to get her hair done.

Video of Pelosi’s visit was sent to news outlets by the salon’s owner Erica Kious.

“It was a slap in the face that she went in,” Kious said. “We’re supposed to look up to this woman, right?” Kious said. “It is just disturbing.”

Pelosi says the visit was a “set up” by the salon’s owner.
