Gov. DeSantis: Florida’s Open for Business Again

Business Headlines Politics U.S.

Florida’s Governor Rod DeSantis is allowing all restaurants and other businesses in his state to immediately open for business once again.

He is also banning fines against people who refuse to wear masks.

DeSantis acknowledged that the Covid19 pandemic is not yet over but said the spread of the virus had eased and the time has come to reopen after six moths of “people twisting in the wind.”

“We’re not closing anything going forward,” DeSantis said, while insisting that the state is prepared for another wave should one come.

The governor’s announcement Friday allows business to reopen immediately at full capacity and prevents cities and counties from ordering them closed unless they can justify the order for economic or health reasons.
