61% of Americans Say U.S. on Verge of Civil War, 52% Already Preparing

61% of respondents to a recent poll feel the U.S. is on the brink of a second civil war, and 41% “strongly agree” with that assessment.

52% believe that it is so near in fact, that they have already starting to prepping for such events – stockpiling food and other essentials supplies.

“This is the single most frightening poll result I’ve ever been associated with,” said Rich Thau, president of Engagious, one of the three firms, along with the Sports and Leisure Research Group and ROKK Solutions, that conducted the “Back-to-Normal Barometer” survey.

The Washington Examiner points out that it is the political “extremes” who believe we are closest to internal conflict.

“52% of very liberal, 52% of very conservative, 32% of somewhat liberal, 34% of moderate, and 35% of somewhat conservative respondents saying they believe the statement “I’m concerned that the U.S. could be on the verge of another civil war,” it writes.
