Biden Campaigns Funneled Over $70,000 to Hunter Biden, Nearly $150,000 to Other Family Members

Headlines Politics U.S.

Recently unearthed documents show Joe Biden’s political campaigns have funneled over $70,000 to son Hunter Biden, and nearly $150,000 to other family members over the course of several years and campaigns.

Biden’s Political Action Committee “Unite Our States” paid $64,700.07 to the law firm Oldaker, Biden, and Belair where Hunter Biden served as a founding partner, from 2005 to 2008.

But son Hunter is not the only family member to have been enriched by Biden’s political campaigns. Between 2002 and 2006, Citizens for Biden funneled almost $60,000 to other Biden family members as well.

Joe Biden’s sister Valerie Biden Owens received $52,808.62, for example, and his niece Catherine Owens received $3,618.51 – payments both itemized as the “salaries.”

Immediate family members of Joe’s – wife Jill, son Beau, and brother James – collectively received $1,765.94 in reimbursements from the campaign.

The process of funneling funds to family members from political campaigns is (surprisingly) a rare one in Washington, D.C.

As of 2016, only 16 Senators have paid family members salaries or fees. Only 4 of those 16 (including Biden) have paid more than one family member such disbursements. As a matter of fact, Joe Biden is fourth on the list of top five senators “paying the most money in salaries or fees to family members.”

As President Trump has said, “The Bidens got rich while America got robbed.”
