The governor of Arizona, Doug Ducey (R), has made it clear: there are still a lot of votes to be counted, and the state is still in play in the presidential election.
“The results have shifted greatly hour by hour, and from last night until today. With hundreds of thousands of votes still outstanding, it’s important that we be patient before declaring any races up or down the ballot,” Ducey wrote in a statement released a short time ago.
Observers noted that with the current breakdown of vote, plus the number of ballots yet to be counted, tends to favor President Trump.
AZ early am update. Maricopa County overnight was a pickup of ~50,000 votes for Trump. Biden lead is now ~90k with ~520k ballots out there. Fox News called the state early on in the process last night, much to the consternation of many political observers. It was especially made so after reports of voter disenfranchisement involving conservatives in the state emerged.
