Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may ask President Donald Trump to parole Jonathan Pollard before leaving office, reports Israeli newspaper Haaretz.

Pollard was arrested in Washington in 1985 for spying for Israel. He received a life sentence but was released under restrictions in 2015. On November 20, a five-year probation period for Pollard ends and If Trump permits it, he may be allowed to move to Israel.

Netanyahu was among the many world leaders to congratulate VP Joe Biden on being labeled president-elect by the U.S. media even though the results are still being contested.
