Former Trump campaign adviser, Steve Bannon, has called a June 2016 meeting between Trump campaign officials and individuals representing the Russian government “treasonous” according to excerpts from a forthcoming book. “Even if you thought that this was treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad [expletive deleted], and I happen to think it’s all of that, you should have called the FBI immediately,” Bannon says.
Bannon spoke to Michael Wolff for the upcoming book, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, which is based on more than 200 interviews with the president, and major figures in and around his administration. The Guardian, obtained a copy before publication.
Bannon also says that he believes the Mueller investigation is going to focus on money laundering, and had particular scorn for the president’s son, Don Jr. Investigators are “going to crack Don Junior like an egg on national TV,” he predicted.
