South Korean President Moon Jae-in commended President Trump for the beginning of talks between North and South Korea, today. “I think President Trump deserves big credit for bringing about the inter-Korean talks, I want to show my gratitude. It could be a resulting work of the U.S.-led sanctions and pressure,” he said.
North and South Korea met for the first time face-to-face yesterday to discuss the sending of a delegation of North Korean athletes to the Olympic Winter Games that are to be held in PyeongChang, South Korea, next month. It was agreed that the North would participate in the games. The two also discussed holding military talks aimed at reducing tensions which had become heightened over recent months.
