Vice President Mike Pence will convene a meeting of the National Space Council at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, FL, this week to discuss plans for the U.S. to once again to travel to the moon.  Leaders from the civil, private and national security sectors will brief the Vice President on NASA’s plans to travel to the “moon, Mars and worlds beyond.”

The White House’s space council held its first meeting last October.  President Trump resuscitated the body after almost twenty-five years of dormancy.  Pence said the group’s goal is to implement the U.S.’ long-term space policy.

Pence will tour the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and the Kennedy Space Center during his two-day trip to Florida.  Pence, chairman of the council, vowed “America will lead in space again.”
