Shaun King, a Black Lives Matter activist and former surrogate for Bernie Sanders’ 2020 presidential bid says statues, murals and stained glass windows showing Jesus to be of “white European” descent “are a form of white supremacy” and need to be removed.
“Yes, I think the statues of the white European they claim is Jesus should also come down…They are a form of white supremacy. Always have been.”
“In the Bible, when the family of Jesus wanted to hide, and blend in, guess where they went?” he added. “EGYPT! Not Denmark. Tear them down.”
Yes.
All murals and stained glass windows of white Jesus, and his European mother, and their white friends should also come down.
They are a gross form white supremacy.
Created as tools of oppression.
Racist propaganda. They should all come down.

King’s comments drew rebukes from some Twitter users who sounded like they are otherwise sympathetic to peaceful goals and demands of the BLM movement.
Dude, I have no issue with saying Jesus wasn’t white, but Mary and Joseph didn’t take him to Egypt to “blend in”, they took him there because it was out of Herod’s jurisdiction.
Have you tried reading the book?

Protesters have been on a campaign to tear down and remove all statues and monuments celebrating America’s history over the last several weeks. Starting with generals and other officers of the Confederacy, they quickly moved to officials who served and fought for the Union, presidents who were among the most progressive in history and have now moved to religious figures.
