The team retired the name “Redskins” due to criticism that is was racially insensitive.
The team is hoping to have the former name and logo removed from all physical and digital assets within 50 days, with a goal being the beginning of the season (Sept. 13).
The organization said it will be soliciting feedback from players, alumni, fans, sponsors and the community in evaluating the name it will be using in the future.
