Former National Security Adviser Susan Rice has sold a large amount of stock and the sale is fueling speculation that she has been selected as Joe Biden’s vice-presidential running mate.
Deadline reported on Friday that Rice sold shares valued at $305,323. This according to an SEC filing dated Thursday.
A spokesperson for Rice told Deadline that the sale is not related to the 2020 Election in any way.
“Ambassador Rice’s sale of a fraction of her Netflix stock has nothing to do with VP speculation,” spokesperson Erin Pelton, said. “She filed a stock plan pursuant to SEC regulations over three months ago.”
Axios reported earlier in the week that Biden had narrowed his choice of running mate down to two: Rice and former presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris of California (D).
