Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi called President Trump and Congressional Republicans “domestic enemies” and “enemies of the state” yesterday.
The insults were part of Pelosi’s criticism of Republicans for trying to, as she sees it, sway the outcome of November’s election by making operational changes to the U.S. Postal Service.
“We take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic and sadly the domestic enemies to our voting system and aren’t honoring our Constitution are right at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with their allies in the Congress of the United States,” Pelosi said during an appearance on MSNBC.
Pelosi accused the Trump Administration of “diminishing the role of the postal system.”
“It’s really actually shameful,” she said.
“Enemies of the state,” she concluded, re-emphasizing her allegation.
Democrats are pushing for mail-in voting in November because it doesn’t require voter ID and there is no chain of custody.
