CNN’s anchor Don Lemon wants to see the widespread civil unrest going on in the U.S. right now come to an end. Specifically, he would like to see Joe Biden to start addressing it, because, as he says, the rioting is aiding President Trump’s reelection chances.
“But guess what? The rioting has to stop,” Lemon said to fellow anchor Chris Cuomo. “Chris, as you know, and I know it’s showing up in the polling, it’s showing up in focus groups. It is the only thing right now that is sticking.”
Polling shows that violent crime happening in the U.S. right now is becoming an important issue heading into the home stretch of the 2020 election.
A sizable majority – 59% – of Americans say violent crime has become “very important” factor in casting their ballots. The issue ranks fifth now on the list of critical issues for voters. It ranks just behind the coronavirus pandemic which 63% of Americans list as very important to their votes.
“A new Pew survey found that violent crime is now the fifth-most important issue for votes, with 59% listing it as ‘very important’ to their vote. For context, it’s nearly as important to Americans as the coronavirus, which ranks fourth with 63%”https://t.co/25M33A3GVy
