Hundreds of parents attended a protest at Beacon Hill to protest against mandatory flu shots. Massachusetts public health officials announced earlier this month that flu-shots would be required for all school-age children – from Kindergarten thru college – for this coming school year.
Massachusetts is the first state in the nation to institute such a mandate.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health made the announcement this month as schools were preparing welcome kids back to school after the lockdowns due to Covid19.
The mandate is “an important step to reduce flu-related illness and the overall impact of respiratory illness during the COVID-19 pandemic,” the department said.
