Former New York Jets wide receiver Josh Bellamy is accused by the Department of Justice of participating in a $24 million scheme to steal Covid19 relief funds.
According the indictment, Bellamy obtained a Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan of $1.2 million for his company, Drip Entertainment. He allegedly then used the money to purchase $104,000 in luxury goods from Dior, Gucci and other jewelers.

He also spent $62,774 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and withdrew more than $300,000.
The complaint also alleges that Bellamy sought loans on behalf of family members and friends as well, and worked with co-conspirators in exchange for kickbacks.
Bellamy, 31, has been in the NFL for eight years and was in his last year of a two-year, $5 million contract. The Jets released him this week.
