The state of Ohio is erecting Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) camps and will force people to quarantine there, if necessary.
Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Interim Director Lance Himes issued a state-wide order on Aug. 31, authorizing these camps to house people who “are unable to safely self-quarantine in their place of residence and to isolate those diagnosed with or showing symptoms of COVID-19.”
The Ohio camps will be used for quarantining those who “test positive for COVID-19 who do not require hospitalization but need isolation (including those exiting from hospitals); those who have been exposed to COVID-19 who do not require hospitalization; and asymptomatic high-risk individuals needing social distancing as a precautionary measure.”
Ohio’s actions further a trend among government agencies forcing quarantine on individuals who are found to be Covid-positive.
The state of Minnesota Department of Human Services earlier this month, in coordination with the Minnesota governor’s “Children’s Cabinet” has sent notices to child care providers informing them that parents who contract Covid might have their children removed and placed into “foster care.”
