Republican Senator Lindsey Graham (SC) hinted at imminent developments in the investigation being conducted by U.S. Attorney John Durham into the origins of the Russia investigation and whether there was impropriety – and even criminal behavior – on the part of Obama-era officials in that investigation.
And he intimated the developments may be significant.
“You think you are mad about the phones being wiped?” Graham told Fox News‘ Sean Hannity last week. “Stay tuned. We’ll talk in about 10 or 12 days and we’ll see if there is something else you can get mad about. Just stay tuned.”
Graham was referring to all members of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russian investigative unit who wiped their smartphones clean of any information last week ahead of their being reviewed by the Justice Department’s inspector general.
The team cited forgotten passcodes, irreparable screen damage, loss of the device and intentional deletion, among other reasons, for deleting information from the devices.
President Trump has indicated that he wants the results of the investigation soon, saying last week that Durham was a “very, very respected man” and that his work would involve a “report or maybe it’s much more than that.”
