The Black Lives Matter organization believes in disrupting the “Western nuclear family structure” in exchange for a system of apparent collectivism.
The organization made the proclamation on a page titled “What We Believe,” on its website.
“We make our spaces family-friendly and enable parents to fully participate with their children. We dismantle the patriarchal practice that requires mothers to work ‘double shifts’ so that they can mother in private even as they participate in public justice work,” the page read.
“We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and ‘villages’ that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.”
The pledge was reported by The Washington Examiner.
The page on the BLM website is no longer available, but an archive of the page can be found here.
Patrisse Cullors, a founder of the Black Lives Matter movement, has said in the past that her and one of BLM’s co-founders, Alicia Garza, are trained Marxists.
“We actually do have an ideological frame. Myself and Alicia in particular are trained organizers. We are trained Marxists. We are super versed on ideological theories…” Cullors said.
