The New York Times retracted its call in New Jersey’s 7th District Congressional race last week. That race has tightened by more than 20,000 votes since the election.
Democrat Tom Malinowski had been ahead of Republican challenger Tom Kean by 28,412 votes last week. That lead is now down to less than 5,000 after yesterday, with roughly 95% of the votes having been counted.
Malinowski unseated 5-term Republican Congressman Leonard Lance in 2018 by more than 16,000 votes, it was reported at the time.
The Associated Press has not yet retracted its call in the race, but says it “continues to watch and analyze vote count results.”
