In November’s election, Tarrant County, Texas, (which is right next door to Dallas County), voted Democrat for the first time since 1964 – 56 years.
In February 2018 Heider Garcia was hired to be Tarrant County Elections Administrator. Garcia had previously worked for voting software company Smartmatic for 12 years.
Last year, in 2019, Tarrant County also received new electronic voting machines.
In 2010, Garcia testified before a government panel in the Philippines to explain “unforeseen” occurrences in that country’s election using Smartmatic machines.
