President Obama belittled Latino support for President Trump during an interview on The Breakfast Club radio program, saying to some Hispanics Mr. Trump’s views on race mean less than his views on abortion and other social issues.
“There’s a lot of evangelical Hispanics who, the fact that Trump says racist things about Mexicans, or puts detainees, you know, undocumented workers in cages, they think that’s less important than the fact that he supports their views on gay marriage or abortion,” Mr. Obama said.

President Trump increased his support among Latinos significantly in the 2020 election – his vote share increased in 78 of the country’s 100 majority-Hispanic counties this year compared to 2016. Many Latino voters say they were turned off by socialist and communist overtones coming from the Joe Biden campaign.
