The U.S. Supreme Court has denied a request by Pennsylvania Republican lawmakers to block the state from certifying its election results.
“The application for injunctive relief presented to Justice Alito and by him referred to the Court is denied,” reads the one-sentence decision.
There were no dissents.
The lawsuit was brought by a group of Republican lawmakers and candidates led by Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA). The group alleged Pennsylvania’s vote-by-mail statute – Act 77 (which vastly expanded the state’s mail-in voting procedures) is in violation of Pennsylvania’s constitution.
