Rep. Mo Brooks: “Dozens” of House Members Are Planning to Challenge Electoral College Votes on Jan. 6

Congressman Mo Brooks (R-AL) says “dozens” of Republican House members are planning to object to Electoral College votes on Jan. 6.

“There are dozens in the House of Representatives who have reached that conclusion that I have; we’re going to sponsor and co-sponsor objections to the Electoral College vote returns,” Brooks told Fox News this morning.

Other Republicans have been trying to dissuade fellow lawmakers from taking part in the objections. Brooks criticized such GOP’ers as quitters unwilling to do their “homework.”

“It is sad to the extent that we’ve got Republicans who are unwilling to do their homework or unwilling to make tough decisions,” Brooks said. “If he would do his homework he would understand that the evidence is overwhelming and he can either surrender to the people who support voter fraud elections or he can fight for his country on this particular issue.”

Under federal law a president- and vice-president-elect are not designated until Congress votes to accept votes cast in the Electoral College. That joint-session is set to take place on Jan. 6.
