Mueller Ignored Clues Pointing to Italy, Focused on Russia

Former special counsel Robert Mueller seemingly ignored clues of Italy’s involvement in SpyGate and instead kept the focus of his probe sqaurely on Russia.

The former FBI Director spent two years investigating claims of collusion between the 2016 Trump campaign and the Russian government. In the end his team found there was no evidence of collusion.

Evidence has since been revealed that some FBI agents working on the case acted improperly to continue investigating the Trump campaign and subsequent presidential administration.

The individual at the genesis of the scandal is a Maltese professor named Joseph Mifsud.

Mueller’s team found Mifsud to be the original source of claims that Russia had “dirt” on President Trump’s 2016 opponent Hillary Clinton in the form of thousands of emails.

Mifsud told Trump campaign foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos in April 2016 of such emails at a meeting at the Andaz hotel in London.

Mifsud, despite being the person at the center of the entire allegations and mentioned in Mueller’s report dozens of time, was never indicted by Mueller.

Equally baffling, is that Vincenzo Scotti, the individual who headed Link University, the institution Mifsud was teaching at during correspondence with Papadopoulos, is mentioned oncein a footnote – in the entire two-volume, 400-plus-page report released by Mueller in March 2019.

Scotti is a former interior minister and a minister of foreign affairs in Italy. He also founded Link University with Mifsud. Mifsud’s attorney, Stephen Roh, has stated Scotti was one of two people who suggested Mifsud introduce Papadopoulos to his contacts in Russia.

Roh has also said Scotti recommended to Mifsud he “disappear and stay for some time in a safe location” after it became known that the FBI had questioned Mifsud. Mifsud’s whereabouts have not been known since at least early 2019.

Recent allegations have come to light implicating members of the Italian government acting in concert with members of the former Obama administration to unravel the Trump presidency.

The allegations are that intelligence operatives conspired to manipulate votes in the Nov. 3 U.S. election using technology infrastructure owned and operated by Italian defense contractor Leonardo SpA.

Multiple affidavits attesting to such claims have been delivered to members of Congress.

Robert Mueller indicted 14 Russian individuals and entities as a result of his investigation.
