Joseph Mifsud’s attorney Stephan Roh incorporated a company in Delaware just days after Mifsud met then-Trump campaign foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos, and the same day a story naming Papadopoulos as a member of Donald Trump’s foreign policy team was published by The Washington Post.
Mifsud is the professor at the center of the SpyGate controversy. He is the first person to tell Papadopoulos the Russian government had “dirt” on Hillary Clinton in the form of thousands of emails.
The comment was made at a meeting between Mifsud and Papadopoulos in London in April 2016. But the two had met the previous month in Rome, Italy, on the campus of Link University, the institution that has a long history of serving as a gathering place for the world’s intelligence community, and the one Mifsud was associated with at the time.
Papadopoulos had joined the Trump campaign on March 6, 2016. He traveled to Rome a week later as part of his duties with the London Centre of International Law Practice (LCILP), an international legal group he was working with at the time.
“According to Papadopoulos, Mifsud at first seemed uninterested in Papadopoulos when they met in Rome,” the Mueller report reads. “After Papadopoulos informed Mifsud about his role in the Trump Campaign, however, Mifsud appeared to take greater interest in Papadopoulos. The two discussed Mifsud’s European and Russian contacts and had a general discussion about Russia; Mifsud also offered to introduce Papadopoulos to European leaders and others with contacts to the Russian government.”
That meeting took place on March 14.
A week later The Washington Post published an article in which Trump named Papadopoulos as a member of his foreign policy team. (You can find a non-paywalled version of the article here.)
“Trump began the hourlong meeting by pulling out a list of some of his foreign policy advisers,” the article reads, describing a meeting Trump had with the Post’s editorial board. “’Walid Phares, who you probably know. Ph.D., adviser to the House of Representatives. He’s a counterterrorism expert,’ Trump said. ‘Carter Page, Ph.D. George Papadopoulos. He’s an oil and energy consultant. Excellent guy,’” it continues.
That same day, Roh, who would eventually become Mifsud’s attorney, incorporated ILS International Legal Services LLC in Delaware. The company provides clients with international corporate, fiduciary and legal services according to its website. ILS was incorporated in Delaware but does not list Delaware, or any state in America, as a site of a corporate-partner office.
It was about a month later, on April 26, 2016, that Mifsud would tell Papadopoulos about the “dirt” Russia supposedly had. That comment would be the genesis of the Russia affair.
Roh would publish an entire book in 2018 that can be considered flattering of Mifsud. In it Roh called Mifsud an “elder statesman” and an “asset” of Western intelligence. Mifsud was so grateful for the effort he retained Roh as his lawyer, according to Roh
Mifsud would disappear after it became public that he was questioned by the FBI in the SpyGate affair. Roh says he has not heard from Mifsud since at least 2019.
Maria Zack, Chairwoman of Nations in Action, the organization spearheading the investigation in election interference coming out of Italy says she has received information that Mifsud is in the United Arab Emirates.
Mifsud, although questioned by Mueller’s team, was not indicted. Roh was questioned by the FBI upon arriving in the States in the fall of 2017 for a vacation with his family, he says, and was subsequently released.
Mr. Roh is based in Zurich, Switzerland.
Mueller indicted 14 individuals and entities from Russia. Most, if not all, of the allegations of collusion between the 2016 Trump campaign and the Russian government have since been debunked.
Hillary Clinton and all that Whores Men will not stop TRUMP from getting in there again.
