A new lawsuit claims accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and his alleged madame Ghislaine Maxwell raped and trafficked a 26-year-old woman from South Florida. The woman, identified in the lawsuit only as “Jane Doe” says the pair raped and trafficked the woman in early 2008, right around the time Epstein was facing charges for several other counts of the sex trafficking of minors.
Doe says she met Epstein and Maxwell some time in late 2006 or early 2007 at an event hosted by her employer in Florida. Doe was a native of Turkey who lived in Broward County at the time.
She was told Epstein wanted to rent or purchase real estate. She would eventually find him a property to rent for $10,000 a month. Epstein, according to the suit, paid cash and Doe was directed not to identify the tenant or process Epstein’s identification.
Doe says Epstein then expressed interest in hiring her to work for him and as an incentive gave her expensive gifts and offered to find her husband “highly-placed” work as well. After what she calls the “persistent efforts of Maxwell,” Doe ultimately agreed to work for him.
She was hired to go to Epstein’s Palm Beach mansion in January 2008 to cut Epstein’s hair (Doe was also a trained hairdresser). When she arrived she claims Epstein was naked and with Maxwell’s assistance brutally raped her. After the assault Epstein allegedly gave Doe $200.
The woman then attempted to leave, telling the pair she intended to report the rape. Maxwell responded by saying she had already called the police. Eventually two men who claimed to be police officers arrived at Epstein’s residence and threatened to arrest Doe for prostitution, take her son away and deport her.
Over the next five months until May 2008 the pair allegedly threatened and intimidated Doe by claiming Epstein’s stressing his influence over various U.S. government agencies including the FBI, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Florida state and local law enforcement.
The woman was also coerced into having sex with other men in Epstein’s network she says including an older, heavyset man named “Walter,” and another older man who told Doe he was a local judge.
Epstein was arrested in July 2019 on charges stemming from sex trafficking of minors in New York and Florida. He died in his jail cell the following month. The cause of death was listed as suicide. Maxwell was arrested in July 2020 and is currently begin held in jail in New York. Her trial is scheduled to begin this July.
