Twenty-four-year-old Jessica Doty Whitaker was allegedly shot killed by Black Lives Matter supporters after an altercation in which Doty and her fiancé responded “All Lives Matter” to the supporters last week.
Her father, Robert Doty, told the Gateway Pundit, that BLM supporters had walked by her and her fiancé last Sunday in Indianapolis and said “Black Lives Matter.” Jessica then responded “All Lives Matter.”
An argument ensued and at some point BLM supporters allegedly pulled out weapons. That prompted Jessica’s fiancé, Jose Ramirez, to pull out his weapon as well. This lead to an end to the altercation – briefly.
“It was squashed and they went up the hill and left we thought, but they were sitting on St. Claire waiting for us to come under the bridge and that’s when she got shot,” Ramirez said.
“An argument started and guns came out, but they worked things out. Unfortunately, they didn’t drop it and waited for them to walk back through and she was shot in the head,” Robert Doty said.
Despite the brutality of the attack, there has been little to no mention of the story in the national media. “Why isn’t anybody outraged about this?” Robert Doty asked in a Facebook post. “Is it that BLM was involved or that it was white young adults that [were] the victims?”
The original Gateway Pundit article was also removed from popular forum board Reddit. It had garnered 15,000 “upvotes,” before being removed, nearly getting it on the front page of the site. Reddit says the article violated its “tolling/satire” policy.
It’s unclear what Reddit was interpreting as trolling or satire in the article.
Jessica’s sister Jennifer says the hardest part about tragedy has been explaining to Jessica’s three-year-old son Greyson, he won’t be seeing his mother again.
“It’s heartwrenching to watch my mother explain to my three year old nephew that mommy is an angel in heaven and him ask when we can go get her and bring her back.”
