Contra Costa County District Attorney Diana Becton has issued new charging guidelines for looting in her California jurisdiction.
Among the factors officers and prosecutors are to now take into account when deciding which charges to apply to a looting case is “personal need.”
“Was the theft committed for financial gain or personal need?” reads one of the guidelines.
Presumably if the theft was committed for personal need a more lenient charge (or perhaps no charge at all) is to be applied.
Diana Becton is heavily supported by billionaire financier and left-wing-movement funder George Soros.
