Former Attorney General under President Barack Obama, Eric Holder, recommended expanding the number of judges that sit on the U.S. Supreme Court in order to pack the Court with liberal judges.
Holder made the comments during a segment with the Reverend Al Sharpton on MSNBC on Sunday.
“I think that if…in fact [Republicans] are successful in placing a justice on the Court I think that what Democrats have to do…is we need to think about court reform and…as part of that reform package, I think additional justices need to be placed on the on the Supreme Court,” Holder said.
Democrats have been searching for ways to respond to Republicans pledging to confirm a justice to the Supreme Court before November’s election but so far have not commented publicly on what such a response would be.
