Microsoft founder and international vaccine initiative funder Bill Gates, said today that multiple doses of any potential Covid19 vaccine may be necessary to truly keep people safe.
Gates says that could require over 7 billion vaccinations given worldwide.
“None of the vaccines at this point appear like they’ll work with a single dose,” Gates told CBS News today. “That was the hope at the very beginning.”
The U.S. government announced a $2 billion purchase of a potential vaccine from Pfizer today. Pfizer is developing a Covid19 vaccine in a joint venture with German biotech firm BioNTech which counts The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as a top investor.
