Petition to Recall California Gov. Gavin Newsom Gathers Steam – “We Have People Asking if They Can Sign Twice”

Headlines Politics U.S.

Despite the blackout by the mainstream media, an effort recall California’s Governor, Gavin Newsom (D) is gathering momentum.

CaliforniaGlobe.com reports that the movement is on track to gather more signatures than any volunteer effort ever.

The petition has gotten hundreds of thousands of signatures so far. It must collect 1.5 million signatures by November in order for a special recall election to be scheduled.

“We have illegal immigrants who get more money from the state than the native Californians who have toiled here their whole lives, felons being released early to recommit the same crimes for which they were incarcerated, or worse, mismanaged forests that provide fuel for a virtually year round fire season destroying homes, businesses and  hundreds of thousands of acres of land,” Californian Peg Marcus told CD Media.

“He [Newsome] closed businesses while leaving his open, moved to an open county so that he and his family would not be subject to his unreasonable mandates, and so much more. I care about my home, my future, and this once beautiful state of California. I urge everyone to sign the petition to recall Gavin Newsom to reclaim our rights and our land,” she added.

Louise Gliatto of Yreka is the Siskiyou County petition coordinator. She says support for the petition is strong.

“We have people running up to us asking if they can sign twice,” Gliatoo said. “We even have Democrats wanting to sign petitions. Even Democrats are upset,” she said.
