PolitiFact Rates Ad Against Biden Raising Taxes “Mostly False,” Contradicts Itself by Explaining That it’s True, Facebook Bans Ad Anyway

“Independent” fact-checking website PolitiFact recently rated an ad claiming Biden would raise taxes on Americans if he were elected president as “mostly false.” Then in their description of the rating, explained why the ad is actually true.

“If you elect me, your taxes are going to be raised, not cut,” Biden is heard saying in the ad.

PolitiFact called the claim “mostly false” because the ad “lacked context” and gave the “wrong impression” about what Biden meant.

They then go on to state this: “[S]ome tax experts estimate that Biden’s plan would mean higher taxes on average for all income groups.”

Facebook subsequently took it upon itself to ban the ad altogether.
