The Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres, scolded member nations of the UN this week in calling for stronger implementation of multilateralism and “global governance.”

“The pandemic is a clear test of international cooperation — a test we have essentially failed,” Guterres said during a video conference.

He attributed the spread of Covid19 pandemic and the large number of casualties it has claimed the absence of a one-world government. “A lack of global preparedness, cooperation, unity and solidarity,” were most to blame for the pandemic, he said.

He also seemed to telegraphic a forming of a one-world government when the Covid pandemic is declared over.

He said post-pandemic global governance will entail the establishment of networks, strong links and cooperation between global and regional organizations, international financial institutions and other global alliances.
