Russia Takes Stand Against Netflix, Orders Removal of All LGBT Content From Children’s Programming

Headlines Politics U.S.

Russia is taking a stand against Netflix, demanding that any content featuring LGBT “propaganda” be removed from children’s programming.

Shows like Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, Steven Universe, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, and The Dragon Prince have been removed from Netflix’s section for children.

Russia amended their Child Protection Law in 2013, to ban “propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations to minors.” Netflix could be face fines of up to $31,000 for failure to comply.

The video-streaming service faced a huge public backlash after picking up “Cuties,” a movie about 11-year-old girls dancing sexually. Scenes from the movie were “lawfully defined as pedophilia.”
