Wisconsin Group Sues to Block State From Certifying Election Results

Headlines Politics U.S.

A Wisconsin conservative group, the Wisconsin Voter Alliance, is filing suit seeking to block Wisconsin from certifying its election results.

The group alleges the Wisconsin Elections Commission sanctioned the use of ballot “drop boxes” (some 500 in all) throughout the state as legal collection points for ballots. The suit says the WEC had no authority to do that.

The WVA is asking any ballots collected through these points to be excluded from the state’s official vote count. If that is an impossibility at this point, they ask the election’s results be nullified and the task of selecting electors for the Electoral College be left to the state legislature, as is their authority under the U.S. Constitution.
