A Monster snow storm is slamming the Northeast and has already caused tens of thousands to lose power. The storm is expected to dump as much as 14 inches of snow on parts of New England.
School systems from Baltimore to New York to Manchester are closed. Wind gusts of up to 40 to 60 mph are expected.
The storm has qualified as what’s known as a “bomb cyclone,” which is where sharp drops in atmospheric pressure allow a storm to strengthen quickly.
Nearly 3,000 flights have been cancelled in the Northeast so authorities recommend calling ahead if you have travel plans. The Governors of Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island are urging drivers to stay of the road.
