President’s Lawyer Sends Bannon “Cease and Desist” Letter

President Trump’s lawyer has sent former top adviser Steve Bannon a “cease and desist” letter demanding that he stop disclosing confidential and disparaging information about President Trump and his family.  The letter accuses Bannon of violating an agreement signed during the 2016 campaign.  Bannon was candidate Trump’s campaign manager in 2016.

The order comes after Bannon called a meeting between the president’s son, Don Jr, and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and individuals representing the Russian government “treasonous and unpatriotic.” The claims were made in an upcoming book.

The letter demands that Bannon stop disclosing confidential information about the president and his family and that he discontinue communication with the media, including, but not limited to, journalists, authors and bloggers.

Trump’s lawyer threatened Bannon with further legal action if the demands weren’t met. “Mr. Trump and the Company retain all rights to pursue legal action against you…including monetary damages, to the maximum extent permitted by law,” he wrote.
