Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.’s stock prices plunged 6% yesterday after President Trump called for a boycott of the company after Goodyear had reportedly banned employees from displaying “Make America Great Again” hats and “Blue Lives Matter” messages.
“Don’t buy GOODYEAR TIRES – They announced a BAN ON MAGA HATS. Get better tires for far less! (This is what the Radical Left Democrats do. Two can play the same game, and we have to start playing it now!),” the President wrote on Twitter.
Goodyear issued a statement yesterday saying the company “has always wholeheartedly supported both equality and law enforcement and will continue to do so.”
The statement also said that images published on social media making the claims did not come from Goodyear’s corporate headquarters nor were they “part of a diversity training class.”
